“Elect lady” in 2 John was a Relief Society leader?
According to Eliza R. Snow’s article in the premier issue of the Woman’s Exponent, “elect lady” has reference to a Relief Society-type role (found in 2 John 1:1), as part of the Primitive Church. Maybe I’m new to the subject, but that is a very neat connection I had not come across before. Also, after some brief surveying of the topic I came across theories that it may have been Mary, the mother of Jesus. Not verifiable yet interesting enough.
